as the founder of Love & Light Botanicals, i left my corporate career path in 2022, with a dream of starting a wellness brand and a desire to make a positive change in our community. i started researching where we could begin with this mission, and the beauty industry stood out as a space with vast opportunity. 

particularly, the deeply rooted mindset of “anti-aging” (which i’ve taken a personal vendetta against.) our lives are a fabric of beautiful moments and memories - aging is living! yet, as consumers we've happily been handing over billions of dollars a year to “combat”, “reverse”, even “erase”, the signs of aging. 

but what’s the real truth? short of surgical measures, there’s no reverse button. prevention is key, which is where skin wellness comes in. our skin is a living organ designed to protect our bodies. so, focusing on caring for our skin, instead of superficial and unrealistic goals (like “erasing” wrinkles) is a much more effective and emotionally healthy way to approach the subject. 

the good news is we can also (sometimes, quite noticeably) improve the appearance of the skin while also focusing on skin health. What’s even better? nourishing our skin to feel, look and perform better with science-based natural skincare. 

this is Positive Aging Skincare, and the ethos we’ve built our brand, and products around. 

to accomplish this mission i knew I needed to educate myself in how to create these products from the ground up. that's why i enrolled with Formula Botanica University and earned a diploma in Advanced Organic Skin Care Formulation. it was important to me to formulate our products with a foundation in the science of skincare to deliver on our core mission of healthy skin through safe and effective high-performance products. 

i also have a wonderfully supportive partner in my husband. he helped me build an artisanal skincare laboratory in our home. i launched into developing Love and Light formulas from scratch in our new lab.

we’re so excited to now bring our first line of proprietary positive aging formulas to the community after a year of research, development and testing. based in science, our formulas combine organic and natural botanical ingredients to target key skin health issues and protect skin from future environmental and stress-induced damage. healthy and happy positive (skin) aging for all!
