From a small-town girl to a skincare entrepreneur

I didn’t grow up imagining I’d one day start a skincare brand. I was raised in a small town, spending my childhood on a farm, where I learned the value of hard work, self-sufficiency, and taking care of what matters. My journey didn’t start in beauty—it started with a deep belief that the products we use should be safe, effective, and created with integrity.

In 2022, I left my corporate career with a dream: to build a wellness brand that truly cares about its customers and challenges the ethics of the consumer goods industry. When I started researching where to make the biggest impact, one thing became clear—the beauty industry was long overdue for change.

My personal vendetta against "anti-aging"

One of the first things that stood out to me was the deeply ingrained "anti-aging" mindset—one I’ve personally taken a stand against. Aging is not something to “combat,” “reverse,” or “erase.” Aging is living. It’s a reflection of the moments, experiences, and wisdom we gain along the way. And yet, we’ve been conditioned to spend billions chasing an impossible standard.

The truth? There’s no reverse button. But what we can do is support our skin’s health, resilience, and longevity in a way that actually works—without fear-based marketing or unrealistic promises.

The purpose behind a Positive Aging Skincare line

This philosophy—Positive Aging Skincare—became the foundation of Love & Light Botanicals. I wanted to create a brand that focuses on skin wellness over perfection, offering high-performance, natural formulas that work with the skin, not against it.

At 40, as I focused on my own long-term health inside and out, I knew it was time to bring this vision to life. But I didn’t want to just launch another skincare brand—I wanted to build it from the ground up, backed by knowledge and science. That’s why I earned my Advanced Organic Skincare Formulation diploma from Formula Botanica University, ensuring every product is created with a foundation in science, safety, and real skin health.

Bootstrapping a dream: from home lab to reality

With the unwavering support of my husband, we transformed part of our home into an artisanal skincare lab, where I developed each formula from scratch. After much research, development, and testing, we’re so proud to share our first proprietary Positive Aging formulas with the community.
