From a small-town girl to a skincare entrepreneur

I didn’t grow up imagining I’d one day start a skincare brand. I was raised in a small town, spending much of my childhood on a farm, where I learned the value of hard work, self-sufficiency, and taking care of what matters.
My path didn’t begin in beauty. It began with a belief that the products we use every day should be safe, effective, and created with integrity.
Leaving corporate to build something different
In 2022, I made the decision to leave my corporate career with a clear goal. I wanted to build a wellness brand that genuinely puts people first and challenges the way the consumer goods industry operates.
As I researched where meaningful change was needed most, one industry stood out. Beauty.
Why I took a stand against “anti-aging”
What immediately struck me was how deeply the “anti-aging” narrative is woven into skincare marketing. Aging is framed as something to fight, fix, or erase.
I don’t believe that story.
Aging is living. It reflects experience, resilience, and growth. There is no reverse button. But there is a smarter, healthier way to care for skin over time.
Supporting skin health, barrier strength, and long-term resilience creates results that actually last. Without fear-based messaging or unrealistic promises.
The foundation of Positive Aging Skincare
This belief became the foundation of Love and Light Botanicals.
Positive Aging Skincare is about prioritizing skin wellness over perfection. It’s about using thoughtfully formulated, high-performance botanical ingredients that work with the skin’s natural processes, not against them.
As I approached 40 and focused more intentionally on my own long-term health inside and out, I knew it was time to bring this vision to life. Not as another trend-driven skincare brand, but as one rooted in education, science, and integrity.
To do that, I earned my Advanced Organic Skincare Formulation diploma through Formula Botanica, ensuring every formula is built on a foundation of safety, research, and real skin health.
From a home lab to handcrafted formulas
With the support of my husband, we transformed part of our home into a small, intentional skincare lab. This is where each formula was researched, developed, tested, and refined by hand.
Every product is designed to nourish, support, and strengthen the skin using organic botanical actives. The goal is simple. Help skin feel balanced, resilient, and supported at every stage of life.
More than skincare
